Orvieto

A famous town of Etruscan origin, it is home to the Duomo, the finest example of Gothic art in Umbria. Built at the behest of Pope Urban IV after the Miracle of Bolsena, it houses the Holy Corporal. Must-see attractions include the Well of St. Patrick, the Papal Palace—now home to the Archaeological Museum—the Church of San Giovenale, the Church of Sant’Andrea, and the Palazzo del Popolo.
